Dark Dressers: Anastasja Black
August 27, 2015
Anastasja Black is a young Fashion Designer from Poland, working on her debut solo collection. Anastasja also produces short fashion films where aesthetics are her main focus, only ever producing a colour palette of monochrome.
What does a typical day in the life of Anastasja involve?
I dont really have a daily routine. The biggest challenge for me is always to wake up, then take a shower and then I look through my wardrobe for an OOTD, where I always have to complain that I have nothing to wear. Even though my wardrobe is packed. I always try to do something creative with my day. So I either design some clothes, sew or film (if I have a day off). I am more like a night person so usually I am doing all of the editing or finishing of Garments at night.
Which are your wardrobe staples and why?
Everything that is black, long and oversized. Leather / latex leggings. All variations of Vagabond shoes. Accessories like my Quartz necklace which I have bought in Berlin, or my silver rings.
What’s your favourite item in your closet?
For now my favourite item in my closet has to be my turtle neck long black dress, which I bought in Berlin. But it changes quite often, so I have no idea what it will be tomorrow.
How would you describe your personal style?
Dark? Minimal? Gothic? If death had a stylist, it would me.
Where do you shop?
Lately I am trying more to sew things for myself rather then buying them. But I can’t lie, I love COS. Half my wardrobe is full of COS stuff.
Your style icons?
Two most important moments that influenced your style?
Does the Emo time in my young teenage years count? To me, this would certainly be number one. The second definitely has to be when I moved to London. You get so many inspirations here just walking on the streets. SO much so, you don’t even have to attend Fashion Shows anymore.
