Dark Dressers: Gallucks
February 4, 2015
Joel Mcloughlin, better known as Gallucks, runs the Hallowed Ground blog. We caught up with him for this week’s Dark Dressers.
What does a typical day in the life of Joel involve?
A typical day involves going to work, replying to emails, taking outfit shots, editing blog images, filming/editing YouTube vlogs, socialising with my friends – I’m currently working for Net-A-Porter as a product stylist and juggling my blog at the same time. Sleep is for the weak! haha
Which are your wardrobe staples and why?
My wardrobe staples are a black longline t-shirt, black skinny jeans and a black wool overcoat.
Simply because one of those 3 items can be worn with anything in my wardrobe. I see them as the building blocks to everything.
What’s your favourite item in your closet?
That is such a difficult question! Right now it would have to be my crocodile bucket bag from Zara.
But I also love my black wool culottes, grey longsleeve tee and my wide brim fedora.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is forever changing but its always thinking ahead and monochrome.
Where do you shop?
I only ever buy clothes online. I shop a lot at ASOS, Represent and Zara.
Your style icons?
my style icons are all my friends – Olivia Emily and Mikko Puttonen,
Two most important moments that influenced your style?
I think becoming interested in K-Pop when I was younger definitely sparked something inside me that was like ‘hey , I want to look and feel awesome , just like them’. So now I wear whatever the hell I like to make me happy.
Another moment would be moving to London – here no one cares what you wear so you have the freedom to truly channel your true self.
