Nadia Sarwar runs the much sought after fashion blog Frou Frouu. Floriana Serani interviewed her for this week’s dark dressers!

What does a typical day in the life of Nadia involve?
I’d to like to say I bound out of bed early, but in actual fact, I drag myself out in a fashion somewhat reminiscent of the girl from The Grudge. This is probably the biggest challenge of my day, I’m not a morning person. I head to the gym, congratulate myself on my efforts and start working. Work may involve creating, shooting, photo editing, meetings and/ or blog related things. I love what I do. Evenings will be either attending an event, a dinner with friends at home, or Netflixing.

Which are your wardrobe staples and why?
Hats and flats. Hats distract from a variety of sins, from a drab outfit, to a bad hair day. They allow me to hide away under the guise of ‘style’. And flats are a must for comfort.

What’s your favourite item in your closet?
A pair of Yohji cropped, wide legged trousers. They go with nothing and everything.

How would you describe your personal style?
I’ve been asked this question a lot in the last 5 years – my answer hasn’t really changed. My heart still belongs to vintage, menswear and hats.

Where do you shop?
I don’t shop much at all anymore, and when I do, it’s online. And I’ll go overboard. Still love my ebay.

Your style icons?
I don’t have style icons, but I appreciate people who have their own sense of style that they appear comfortable in.

Two most important moments that influenced your style?
Aside from natural style evolution, I’d say moving to NY. Maybe it’s changed me as a person, but now more than ever, effortlessness and comfort are key to me. And the second is Netflix. For the same reason.
