Dark Style Roundup LFW AW16 DAY 3
February 22, 2016
Danielle Romeril has been on our radar for quite a while now, but it seems every season she gets stronger and stronger. Whilst never dark, it’s obvious there are dark aesthetics and influences accented throughout her collections. We loved AW16, a brilliant aesthetic accented by a beautifully presented space.
We always have high expectations for Phoebe English, but some how she even surpassed those. In one of the best produced and best looking collections we’ve seen this season. There was something decidedly meta about queueing for a presentation only to watch a perpetual queue.
The production was second to none, with staging, models and soundtrack all working together [with a little ad-hoc acting thrown in]. The collection itself was signature Phoebe, delicate yet meaningful. Our favourite of the week.
Belstaff are always our priority for London Fashion Week no matter what the season. To coincide with “Heading North” the menswear collection, Belstaff turned to womenswear with ‘Polar Pioneer’. Whilst not a dark collection, there were again accents which we loved. The red leather pants, patched jacket, a black leather jumpsuit all had so much attitude, ready for any true biker.
It’s Alexander McQueen. Nothing more needs to be said.
