Dark Style RoundUp SS16 Day 4
September 22, 2015
Tuesday Night Band Practice
As we walked through the door to the TNBP presentation and were greeted with an all black dressed crowd, Marshall amplifiers and Snakebites to drink, we knew we were home. It instantly became our favourite show of the week for style, substance and authenticity.
The SS16 collection completely blew us away, the juxtaposition of textures and refined edge was nothing short of perfection. Draped fabrics were teamed with biker jackets and crocheted vests. Knits also made a prominent presence adding a fashion aesthetic. Plus, anytime a brand puts thumbholes in cuffs, we’re going to be all for it.
We’ve always loved when Burberry add that ounce of ‘edge’ to their refined mixture of beautiful pieces. But it normally misses our dark style roundup. For Spring Summer 2016 though, Burberry produced a fairly sizeable amount of black, and we loved it!
Whilst Thomas Tait’s SS16 collection wasn’t dark, a couple of pieces caught our eye in his collection. The left hand outfit shown above especially, which gave us the vision of a new frontier space-age jumpsuit. The cut and minimalism accented by the space symbolism on patches was certainly right up our street.
