It’s confirmed, the Resident Evil 6 film ‘The Final Chapter’ will be the last Resident Evil film ever made. We recently ran a piece on the RE6 Film, but it seems things have changed, with Paul W.S.Anderson coming out with new statements. There is a new title, along with news that we had been expecting, but dreading all the same.

On talking about the script he says:

“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is the working title. It may end up being the final title, but that’s what’s written on the front page of my script.”

Promptly after he was asked, if indeed RE6 would be the final Resident Evil film, and Anderson stated:

“That’s what’s on the title page; it’s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, so absolutely.”

It’s quite possibly a sad day for fans of the Resident Evil franchise and for zombie movies universally. But, what we should remember is all good things come to an end. It’s important for something to end whilst it is still wanted and great. You do not get cult, iconic movies or TV series by continuing on and on when there isn’t a story to tell.
